Stafdalur skiing area

Stafdalur ski area on Fjardarheidi heath is only 17 km away from Egilsstaðir and it offers plenty of variety for skiers and a 1.000 m ski lift, as well as a lift for children. Cross-country skiing and snowmobiling are possible from the skiing area and from the Fjardarheidi heath far into the summer. There is good access for snowmobile from Stafdalur to the magnificent East fjords mountains, deserted fjords and to the famous Dyrfjöll.
