Eir\u00edkssta\u00f0ahneflar is one of the 30 Pearls of Egilssta\u00f0ir region and refers to some of the most stunning hikes of the area.<\/p>\n

On this hike you will get two for one as actually the mountains are two. This hike starts from\u00a0the river \u00dever\u00e1 south of Eir\u00edkssta\u00f0ir farm. \u00a0The first mountain is\u00a0Fremri Hnefill\u00a0(947 m)\u00a0and there\u00a0you will find the cylinder with the visitors\u2019 log and stamp. From there one can cross over to the top of Ytri Hnefill (922m) and down to Eir\u00edkssta\u00f0ir farm. It is also nice to walk over to the ruins of the farm\u00a0Hneflasel\u00a0which was abandoned in 1875\u00a0and between the two\u00a0mountains\u00a0on the way back.<\/p>\n

A hike of 5 – 6 hours<\/p>\n

Walk on from Langavorsteinn rock south of Eir\u00edkssta\u00f0ir farm and on to Fremri Hnefill \u2013 top (947m) where you will find the cylinder with the visitors’ log and stamp. From there one can cross over to the top of Ytri Hnefill (922m) and down to Eir\u00edkssta\u00f0ir farm. It is nice to walk over to the ruins of the abandoned Hnefilssel farm, in 1875, and pass between the two fells on the way back to J\u00f6kuldalur valley.<\/p>\n
